» Certification Program

Cadence of Development The TPS comprehensive training and certification program will dramatically increase the problem-solving skill level of your engineers and workforce. With a proven record for developing statistical engineers, TPS has instituted a cadence of instruction that includes training classes, onsite coaching, and documented project work within three levels of certification, Apprentice, Journeyman, and Master. Completed projects are submitted into an approval system for certification at each level to ensure every candidate can demonstrate convergence through their written work. Interviews with TPS consultants are required for Journeyman and Master level accreditation.

  • APPRENTICE CERTIFICATION
  • JOURNEYMAN CERTIFICATION
  • SE MASTER CERTIFICATION

SE Apprentice Certification Candidates are selected by client management to attend the 2 1/2 day class session.

  • The client engineers must come to class with a project opportunity from within their business / firm that is sanctioned by leadership.
  • The initial coaching week will be scheduled with the candidates at the end of the class session.

Project Work The coach will work onsite with the candidates.

  • TPS will commit a one week block of time for the first session.
  • After two additional weeks, a second week will be scheduled. The first project is usually completed in this second week and a second project started. The candidates will also be working on their report for their initial Apprentice level certification.
  • Upon initial project certification, the candidates will be ready for the Journeyman class.

SE Journeyman Certification The candidates attend the 2 1/2 day class session.

  • The client engineers must come to class with their second project or a project opportunity sanctioned by leadership.
  • Secondary coaching weeks will be scheduled with the candidates at the end of the class session.

Project Work The coach will work onsite with the candidates through the completion of the second project.

  • TPS will commit a one week block of time for each session.
  • Upon completion of the second project and final report approval, each candidate will complete a third project alone. The coach can be available onsite if necessary; however, most often coaching support is done in small blocks of time via telephone and e-mail.
  • Journeyman certification requires the completion of three projects as well as the candidate passing an interview with a TPS Consultant.

SE Master Certification At this point, the Statistical Engineer should be able to work on projects with
minimal coaching support.

  • If the engineer desires to continue the progression toward Master status, he / she must do an additional three projects of increasing difficulty.
  • With the completion of these three additional projects, the candidate is ready to attend the Master class.
  • After successfully completing the Master class, the candidate will need to pass a Master candidate interview in order to be certified to coach.
  • Once approved, the Master candidate will be able to coach other client engineer(s) under the minimal guidance of a TPS coach.
  • After the Master Candidate raises two certified Journeymen (four additional certified projects) and passes a final interview with a TPS Consultant, he / she will obtain Master Level Certification.
